Green transportation
Did you know that in the U.S. 30% of carbon emissions come from the transportation sector? In fact, the transportation sector is actually the largest contributor of carbon emissions! How can we as individuals Help lower the demand for oil consumption? Try taking public transportation, cycling or even walking instead of driving! Also try to take trains vs flying.๐ฟ๐ฒ๐๐ When I lived in the US, I drove everywhere. Itโs hard to adopt the public transportation system where I lived because suburban sprawl makes it difficult (but not impossible) for the city to make a comprehensive system. Now that I live in a city - Stockholm, I use public transportation or I cycle or walk if the weather is nice. Here is a photo of my bike!

Do you try to adopt green modes of transportation? When? Where? And why or why not?

Yes, I and my family try. I go to the office by public transport. I walk when I can. We are about to trade our BMW diesel for an electric BMW. It will mean some adjusting because of the shorter range of electric cars, but nothing we can't handle. Nice bike! I don't ride my bike as much as I would like.

This is only my commuter bike! I have a race bike as well ๐ but donโt ride for commuting because I am afraid it will get stolen. Or parts will get stolen. Do you use your car for long trips often or?

Oh, I thought that looked โrace bikeyโ, but I know they can be much more advanced and expensive too. ๐ No, we donโt do many long car travels, but we like to do day trips and 150 km makes us have to plan better and keep track of charging stations. And when we go to our country house in the summer we have to plan the 450 km trip as well. Our current car takes us 1000 to 1100 km without a gas stop.

Oh ok. Is there many electric charging stations in Sweden? Where can one find this information at?

Here is my other bike. Itโs hooked up to an indoor trainer at the moment. But I have plans to take it out for the first time this season over this weekend to go on a short 50km ride.
Edit: oops didn't attach the image.

It looks like there is more electric stations than there would be gas stations! That is quite a few.

They are popping up everywhere since so many car buyers are choosing electric when they buy new.

A fuel cost of 2 SEK per 10 kilometers compared to 10 SEK or more for a cumbustion driven car is quite compelling if you drive a lot.

It is carbon fiber. Yes there is a computer on it. Men and women typically prefer different shapes of saddles. I find mine very comfortable even for rides when I am on my bike for 6 or more hours. On my commuter bike you can see it is wider which means it will be more comfortable for the short rides but I would have problems with that one on long rides.

Okay. Is there a special reason for not having the computer near the handle bars? Sorry for branching out. ๐

Itโs just a cheap one that needs to be closer to the back of the bike when itโs on the trainer.

I need to buy a new one but donโt ride my bike enough to justify it at the moment
